One Legged Grasshopper Dilemma

The dilemma is making the decision. If you came across a one-legged grasshopper hopping around in circles would you mercy kill him or let nature take its course?

Maybe the little guy has lived all his life with one leg, born just a little different. Maybe his inability to hop normally was just the rain sprinkling down.

But what if he had an accident and a slow painful death was coming his way. A heard of ants coming to devour his broken body.

So what do you do?

The dilemma is making the decision. You are now standing in the worst possible position. Making a medical decision for someone who cannot make it for themselves.

How do you keep in check what they want, what they need, and what you are feeling in a fraction of a second? They are dying and you have to decide what the right call is.

When are we supposed to know the boundary between mercy and cruelty in keeping someone around? Is your situation that one in a million? How long can you hope, pray for a miracle, to know the right path? At what point do we choose, no have to separate logic and emotion.

How many hours will you sit thinking about your call, what if you had chosen a different path? Would things have been better or worse?

The life that was lived before you walked into that moment and stood in those shoes is a distant story entirely. You are now standing in your new reality.

So what do you do?
