Memorize the small details: take delight in how the sunshine feels on your skin, the smells that fill your nose, how your favorite meal tastes. You never know when it will be last time you feel that same way about the little things.
With how fast this world moves we forget to find the simple beauty in how the small things fill us with joy. We rush off to the next place or focus on where we want to be instead of enjoying the moments that make being human beautiful.
Try smiling at a stranger and see how they lighten up, not everyone will but someone just might.
Try a new food or one you haven’t eaten in a long while and describe the taste out loud, the way it feels in your mouth, and try not to smile.
Take a moment to feel something soft, pull out an older sweater or blanket and wrap yourself up in it and close your eyes and get lost in the warm embrace.
Call an old friend or family member you haven’t talked to in a while and fall into their voice, letting it rock you into peace.
Walk into a bakery and take the deepest breath you’ve taken in a long while, letting the smell leave an impression on your lungs.
My challenge this week is to pay attention to the small sensations I feel and find delight in them.
Take a moment to slow down and get lost in the delightful small things.
